You need help with your wedding–passing hors d’oeuvres at the cocktail hour or pouring wine behind the bar?
Last week I attended a get-together for business owners (yes, I really am a business owner!). I met a woman named Tracy Marshall who works for Adams&Garth. Adams&Garth is a job search agency—for executives, but also for part-time workers. Tracy is what is called a “Staffing Coordinator.”
A staffing coordinator? That doesn’t sound very exciting, but think of it. Say you are having your wedding and reception at the family farm. You have ordered a tent, rented tables and chairs, and hired a caterer. But, there is all this other work that has to be done. Who’s going to set up those chairs and tables, direct cars to the field where they can be parked, clean up after the event, and knock down everything after the guests have left for home?
Or, for another example, say, you’re hosting an after-wedding reception breakfast at your house for out-of-town wedding guests. It’s a great idea—a last meal before those guests hit the road. However! However, you just know you will be too tuckered out from a night of dining, dancing and discoing to even brew one cup of coffee. “Hello, Tracy?”
Who’s going to serve the hors d’oeuvres at YOUR wedding?
This is one of those instances when I say to myself, “Wish I had thought of that! I said that when I met a person who started a dogwalking service in Charlottesville.
